Biography

Li Chenggang, male, a Han national, was born in Taihu, Anhui Province in February 1967. He started his career in August 1989 and joined the CPC in December 1988. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in law from Peking University and a master’s degree in economics of law from University of Hamburg.

He worked successively as Deputy Director of Comprehensive Division, Deputy Director of Anti-dumping Division, Director of Anti-dumping Division of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, and Director of Barrier Investigation Division of Bureau of Fair Trade for Imports & Exports of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Ministry of Commerce. Since January 2004, he had served successively as Deputy Director-General of the Bureau of Fair Trade for Imports & Exports and Deputy Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Commerce. In November 2010, he was appointed as Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Commerce (He served as member of the Standing Committee of Qingdao Municipal CPC Committee and Vice Mayor of Qingdao from February 2013 to February 2014). He was appointed as member of the CPC Leadership Group of MOFCOM and Assistant Minister in December, 2016.
